The excitement and the things we experience while travelling can sometimes make us forget about our regular routines. Although it may seem like these routines are not the most important thing at that moment, our body is very well aware of these changes, and they can sometimes become quite noticeable. One of the routines you certainly should not overlook while travelling is your skin care routine.
For instance, while we’re travelling, we can often neglect our sleep, however, enough sleep is very important for the skin because it regenerates overnight. Besides not getting enough sleep, your skin may be affected by the changes to the climate and the air. You may be travelling to a place where the air is much drier, which probably means you should drink a lot more water. And even if you haven’t neglected your skin care routine on your trip, you probably haven’t taken all the products you normally use, but instead went out and bought new ones after arriving at your destination. All of this, and much more, can affect your skin, and in order to avoid that, we’re bringing you a couple of products and tips you really should not forget while travelling.

Skin care routine for your face
A good skin care routine often requires more than one product. A cleanser, a moisturizer, and a broad-spectrum sunscreen are just some of the products all of us should use to protect the delicate skin on our faces. While travelling, it is especially important to keep our skin hydrated and healthy. Try to find out if your favourite products come in travel sizes as well and take those with you on your trip or try to find the products you normally use on your destination, so that you do not stress your skin too much. You should definitely try to cleanse your face every day while travelling, with a cleansing gel or a toner, and apply a moisturizing cream and sunscreen after. Depending on your skin colour and the quality of your skin, find out which SPF suits you the best. Be careful not to pick a sunscreen that’s too oily because you could inadvertently make your skin worse. Use a lip balm for your lips every day as well. And lastly, try to avoid touching your face and lips during the day.

In addition to your regular body wash, make sure to apply a body lotion after showering and washing your hair. This is especially important if you spend your vacations at the seaside where you swim in the salty seawater every day. Salt can significantly damage the skin, and in combination with the harsh sun, it can make your skin dry very quickly, which can make it sensitive to touch. Salt water can also damage your scalp as well, so make sure to apply a hair conditioner after washing your hair with shampoo to ensure that your hair stays soft and shiny.
